DUBAI – The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) has forecast generally stable weather conditions across the UAE from Sunday until May 14, with fair weather prevailing across most parts of the country alongside periods of active winds and blowing dust.

Humidity and light fog formation are also expected over some coastal areas during the mornings in the middle of the week.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the Centre said weather conditions on Sunday would be fair in general and dusty at times. Light to moderate northwesterly winds are expected to freshen intermittently, causing blowing dust and sand, with wind speeds ranging between 10 and 25 km/h and reaching up to 40 km/h.

The sea is forecast to be rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.

Monday outlook

According to the NCM, generally fair conditions will continue on Monday, accompanied by light to moderate northwesterly to southwesterly winds. Winds are expected to freshen at times, with speeds between 10 and 25 km/h and gusts reaching 40 km/h.

Sea conditions in the Arabian Gulf are expected to remain rough westward during the morning before gradually becoming moderate to slight later in the day. The Oman Sea will remain slight.

Fog chances

On Tuesday, humid conditions are expected to continue during the morning hours, with a probability of light fog formation over some northern coastal areas. Weather conditions will remain fair in general and partly cloudy at times.

The NCM said northwesterly to southwesterly winds will continue to blow at light to moderate speeds, occasionally becoming fresh. Wind speeds are forecast to range from 10 to 25 km/h, reaching up to 40 km/h in some areas.

Sea conditions are expected to remain slight in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Humidity is expected to return again on Wednesday morning, with chances of fog or light fog formation over some coastal areas, especially northward. Fair to partly cloudy conditions are expected later in the day.

Winds on Wednesday will remain light to moderate, blowing from the northwest to southwest at speeds ranging between 10 and 20 km/h and reaching up to 30 km/h. The sea will remain slight in the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea.

Thursday forecast

Fair to partly cloudy weather is expected to continue on Thursday, accompanied by intermittent activity in northwesterly to southwesterly winds. The winds may cause blowing dust at times, with speeds ranging between 10 and 25 km/h and reaching up to 40 km/h.

The sea is expected to range from slight to moderate in both the Arabian Gulf and the Oman Sea, as weather conditions across the UAE continue to reflect overall stability combined with periods of active winds and recurring morning humidity.
